  • Scientific "Correctness" vs Scientific Progress
In this adaptation of a recent Thunderbolts Picture of the Day article, author Mel Acheson explores how a phenomenon he calls "scientific correctness" can ultimately impede scientific progress.

  • Does Gravity Come to us From a Hidden Outside Realm?
Is the Energy Powering Gravity Created in our Space-Time or does it come from -   Hyperspace?   Introduction. The article that follows this introduction featured in the science section of the 25th December 1999 edition of The Economist magazine. It gives a good idea of how hyperspace is treated in mainstream, leading edge physics.   Hyperspace poses something of a...

  • Liquid Lake Discovered on Mars?
The MARSIS radar carried on the Mars Express orbiter seems to have discovered a lake of liquid water hidden below the ice-cap of the Martian south pole.   This makes the lake similar to large lakes found under the ice cap of Earth's own south pole - such as Lake Vostok. (Reconstruction of Lake Vostok derived from radar probing shown below).   Drilling down to Lake Vostok...

  • Recently published research suggests that NASA might have accidentally heat sterilised organic compounds in the samples used in its 1976 Viking lander biology experiments on Mars.

If this did occur then it probably set back the search for life on Mars by decades.

  • ..... And today's musical interlude is a song called "Cydonia Quest" - appropriately enough. It's from the album ""Deal With It" by "Iron Hearse".

There's something about the "Martian pyramids" in there somewhere, about going on a "Cydonia quest" through space, and "seeing the Martian moons rising"...

It's the obvious rock anthem for this OnStellar page and the Cydonia Quest website.

  • When NASA Discovered Life on Mars ...
In 1976 NASA placed two Viking Landers on the surface of Mars.   These have been the only landers sent to the Red Planet that had experiments on board that were specifically designed to find living microbes in the Martian soil.   Two of the three experiments confirmed the existence of life on Mars. The third experiment was designed to find organic...

  • Face on Mars : 1958 to 2018
Since its discovery by one of the Viking Orbiters in 1976 the mile long Face on Mars at Cydonia has been the subject of much study and has been imaged by many space probes.   In the intervening period it has been discovered that there are many other anomalies in the Cydonian landscape that seem more artificial than natural.   The main reason for scepticism about...
