Charles moved to Fort St. John, BC, as an infant, and resided there till the age of sixteen. Charles currently resides in Victoria, BC, Canada. At the age of nine he was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a genetic muscle wasting disease. During his childhood, he became very interested in drawing, and soon it became an obsession. At around the age of 16, when his ability to draw with detail declined with his genetic disorder, he became interested in painting, and he plunged into the world of abstract art. In his early 20s, Charles became obsessed with a new passion, photography. This new medium allowed Charles to use his artistic talents in a different way. His skill in capturing rich textures and stimulating compositions was formidable. Unfortunately, as his muscles weakened even more, it became too difficult to continue to pursue photography, and he had to find a new way to express his artistic talent. Charles is now 42 and he continues to create geometric based graphic compositions, abstracts and political art using the computer as his medium.
