SMALL ASTEROID EXPLODES NER PUERTO RICO: On June 22nd at 21:25 UT, a small asteroid entered Earths atmosphere and exploded in broad daylight south of Puerto Rico. Airwaves recorded by the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty Organizations infrasound station in Bermuda pegged the blast energy between 3 and 5 kilotons of tnt. Here is an image taken by NOAA'S GOES-16 WEATHER SATELLITE.

THE BLANK SUN: The Sun is blank. No sunspots have appeared for the last 33+ days, giving the Sun the appearance of a giant orge billard ball. This is a sign that Solar Minimum is underway. Earlier this year, a panel of experts from NOAA and NASA predicted that the solar cycle would reach its nadir sometime between July 2019 and September 2020. The current stretch of spotless suns is consistant...

THE SUN IS BLANK: Today is the 31st consecutive day that the Sun has been without spots. Pictures of the Sun look like a orge billiard ball. This is a sign of "SOLAR MINIMUM," a phase of the solar cycle that brings "EXTRA SOLAR RAYS," long lasting holes in the Sun's atmosphere, and a possible surplus of NOCTILUCENT CLOUDS. These clouds form when summertime wisps of water vapor rise to the top...

LARGE HOLE OPENS ON SUN- Earth's magnetic field could become unsettled on June 18th and 19th when an incoming stream of solar wind reaches our planet. The gaseous material is flowing from a large hole in the Sun's atmosphere. Polar sky watchers should be alert for auroras, especially in the southern hemisphere where winter darkness favors their visibility.

A DAYTIME METEOR SHOWER IS HAPPENING NOW- Most people don't know it, but some of the strongest meteor showers of the year happened when the sun is up. One of them is underway now. Canada's Meteor Orbit Radar in western Onterio is pinging with activity on June 5th in response to a source only 20 degrees from the Sun.  "These are Arietid Meteors,' said Professor Peter Brown of the...

HOLE IN MARS ATMOSPHERE IS VENTING WATER: A hole has developed in the mars atmosphere that is venting water into space. This hole is known to open every two years and it allows the planets water to collect at the poles.  Thats the explanation advanced by a team of Russian and German scientists who studied the odd behavior of water on the Red Planet. Earthbound scientists can see that...

NEW IMPACT CRATER FOUND ON MARS: Scientists have found a stunning new impact crater on the surface of mars. The crater was spotted by NASA's Mars Reconnassance Orbiter, and was created sometime between July and September 2018, according to researchers involved in the High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment (HIRISE) that is managed by the University of Arizona. The HIRISE camera is one of six...

SUNSPOT AR2470: Around the world, amateur astronomers are reporting tall plumes of gas rising over the suns northwestern limb. The source of the activity appears to be old sunspot AR2740. Here is the view from NASA'S Solar Dynamic Obsevatory. The prominence rises almost 50,00km above the edge of the sun. That means it is 4 times as tall as Earth. These dimensions make it an easy target for...
